The research scope of International Journal of Medical Humanities Research focuses on frontier exploration, theoretical innovation and practical application of medical humanities against the backdrop of deepening globalization, digital intelligence transformation, and interdisciplinary integration of medicine, humanities, social sciences and artificial intelligence. It covers core areas including basic theories and disciplinary construction of modern medical humanities, innovative methodologies and research paradigm reform in medical humanities research, the history of international medical culture exchanges and academic genealogy of medical humanities, cross-cultural medical ethics and comparative medical civilization research, modern transformation and innovative inheritance of traditional medical culture, clinical humanities practice and patient-centered humanistic care research, medical ethics, bioethics and public health ethical governance, digital humanities and intelligent medical humanistic application research, psychological and social humanities research in disease prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, medical education reform and humanistic literacy cultivation for medical talents, research on medical law, medical sociology and medical anthropology, inheritance and innovative development of traditional Chinese medical humanities, global public health humanities and cross-border medical communication research, as well as emerging interdisciplinary sub-disciplines of medical humanities.
This journal is committed to tracking the latest academic progress and research hotspots in global medical humanities research, exploring the multi-dimensional spiritual value, social value and practical value of medical humanities in modern healthcare systems. It promotes the dialogue, integration and innovative development between traditional medical humanistic concepts and modern medical academic and practical paradigms, and expands the international vision and theoretical boundaries of medical humanities research. The journal aims to build a high-level international academic platform for academic exchanges, frontier discussions and achievement demonstrations in the field of medical humanities, construct a communication bridge for global medical humanistic academic cooperation and Sino-foreign medical cultural exchanges, advance interdisciplinary integration and innovative development of medical humanities research, guide the humanistic return of modern medicine, improve the humanistic quality of global medical practice, and enhance the international influence and academic discourse power of Chinese medical humanities research and traditional medical culture.

IJMHS is a fully open access journal that provides immediate and permanent free access to all published content for all users worldwide without requiring any article processing charges (APCs) or subscription fees. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing unrestricted sharing, distribution, and reuse with proper attribution. Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal publishing rights. We support responsible scholarly sharing by permitting authors to deposit preprints in any repository without embargo and postprints immediately upon publication.
